Week 1 Newsletter
As we prepare for another exhilarating week in fantasy football, let’s take a moment to pay homage to the commissioners who’ve steered our league throughout the years.
Spencer Mobley | Commissioner 2020

In the inaugural year of our league, Spencer Mobley emerged as the founding commissioner, laying the cornerstone for the camaraderie we hold dear today. His visionary leadership shone brightly as he masterminded the league’s maiden draft night, complete with a meticulously printed draft board. In times when ominous shadows of collusion loomed, Mobley stood resolute, a stalwart guardian, unwavering in his commitment to preserving the league’s integrity. Navigating the turbulent seas of the COVID-19 era with finesse, he deftly steered us clear of potential COVID-related penalties. His leadership has been, remains, and will forever be the bedrock upon which our league thrives.
Connor Lamb | Commissioner 2021

Stepping into the commissioner’s shoes in our league’s second year, Connor Lamb brought a sense of law and order. His unwavering commitment to fairness and transparency shaped the commissioner role into the jovial caricature it is today. Lamb introduced fresh draft order concepts, including the memorable use of the Cameo app for selection. Under his stewardship, our league expanded from 12 to 14 owners, successfully navigating the uncharted waters of the NFL’s 18-week season expansion. To accommodate the extra week, he ingeniously crafted the beloved week-14 play-in game. Connor’s judicious rulings, humor, keen insights, and gentle demeanor enriched our league, paving the way for our continued prosperity.
Matthew O’Neil | Commissioner 2022

Taking the helm in our league’s third year, Matthew O’Neil came in with a promise to “Build Back Better.” His inaugural message, “The Queen is dead. I’m alive and well,” set the tone for his transformative tenure. O’Neil revolutionized our league by introducing the Owner’s Meeting, now an integral part of our tradition. He brought organizational excellence, project management prowess, written rules, and the art of victory speeches to our league. His crowning achievement was the successful transition to the Sleeper app, enhancing communication and preserving our league’s history. From day one, O’Neil was determined to make a lasting impact for the betterment of our friends, and indeed, he left an indelible mark.
Let’s raise our glasses to these remarkable commissioners, each contributing their unique strengths to our beloved league. Here’s to the past, present, and future of the KC Guyz.
Thank you,
Office of the Commissioner
