Today we deep dive into the all-time league financials. Our financial all-time winningest member is Andrew Norton, current owner of We-Defense. Norton elected to skip the first year knowing he could not compete against the 2020 champion Spencer Mobley. This wisdom saved Andrew the $50 buy-in resulting in his all-time financial first place finish ahead of Connor Lamb. In Lamb’s 2022 first place finish, he received the largest ever champion payout in the amount of $535. In third place is our first-ever league champion Spencer Mobley, and in 4th, we celebrate Ryan Zisman who is the only owner in the black having never won a championship.
In an exclusive interview with Norton, he stated:
It’s an honor. But I don’t do it for the money. I do it for the love of the game. That being said, I took that money and bought a Chiefs playoff ticket in 2019 and saw one of the greatest games I’ve ever seen with my friends. And jumped through a table. So really a win in fantasy football turned into a highlight I’ll remember for the rest of my life. That’s why I do this. For the memories along the way.
When asked if he ever paid for the broken table using any of his $500 in winnings, Norton said:
[Who, the P-A-B Matt Gallagher who loves football but refuses to join the KC Guyz? Nah, F that guy. I let him know that day who the man of the house really is. He got to witness greatness, and he’s welcome.]
