Green Trumpets Victory as Rambo

By Office of the Commissioner, Editor-in-Chief

In this week’s newsletter, we reset the league’s palette and review the Halloween costumes of the KC Guyz. We also analyze the strength of each division before the 2024 season.

Halloween Costume Rankings

S Tier

Collin Green, Rambo

  • Collin was the only member to dress in line with his team’s mascot. In addition, he clearly spent months training for this photo earning the top spot in this week’s rankings.

Matt O’Neil, General

  • Matt continues his fight against fascism by dressing up as an American General.

A Tier

Spencer Mobley, Knight

  • Spencer grew his hair out for this one and, my goodness, does he look ready to protect the realm.

Jordan Bosch, Prince

  • Jordan hand stitched this outfit, and added a soft smile to his Prince Charming look.

Chris Wahrman, Viking

  • Chris bought this fit while in Iceland years ago and has saved it for this moment. Purchased hair extensions and everything.

B Tier

Connor Lamb, Monk

  • Connor tops the B tier because his costume aligns with personal convictions and misses the A tier because he’s wearing a bath robe.

Trey Kennedy, Fae

  • Trey flies in with his ACOTAR themed costume. He misses the A tier because this costume is mostly a $5 pair of wings and a white t-shirt.

John Gilmore, Construction Worker

  • John grew out his ‘stache for this construction worker fit. His hardhat and vest are cute, if not a bit low effort.

Ryan Zisman, Cowboy

  • Ryan went as a cowboy this year. He wears this costume every homecoming. While fun for him, it is woefully unoriginal.

C Tier

Travis Cotton, Wizard

  • Cotton’s Tolkein wizard costume this Halloween was his routine sales uniform. We call it “Tolkein” because he failed to include a wand with his wizard costume.
  • (Full transparency, we ran out of free credits to redo this one.)

Sam Arends, Cop

  • Sam lands in the C tier for wearing his old uniform.

D Tier

Andrew Norton, Electrician

  • We aren’t sure Andrew is even wearing a costume in this D tier outfit.

Divisional Rankings before the 2024 Season

Here are the divisional numbers from the three full seasons that included all twelve of the current members, so 2021-2023, before this office decided divisions.

Total Points:

  1. Patriots: 18,186.48
  2. Space Cadets: 18,172.62
  3. Girl Dads: 17,733.68

Total Wins:

  1. Patriots: 83
  2. Girl Dads: 76
  3. Space Cadets: 74

Total Champions:

  1. Patriots: 1
  2. Space Cadets: 1
  3. Girl Dads: 01

From those numbers, an inconsequential 14 point difference exists between the Patriots and Space Cadets while a chasm of over 400 points exists between the top 2 divisions and the Girl Dads. Ironically, given the Girl Dads’ decent 76 wins, we find that historically they’ve not only been the worst division, but the luckiest.

  1. Editor’s Note: Mobley of the Girl Dads won in 2020, before Norton and Arends joined the league. ↩︎
