KC Guyz Rewind 2026

By Office of the Commissioner, Editor-in-Chief

What Have You Been Up To This Offseason?

Every August, we want to know what the KC Guyz have been up to, so we called every owner and asked the important questions.

Welcome to the first annual KC Guyz Rewind.

📊 Offseason By The Numbers

  • 322 miles of Katy Trail covered
  • 7 completed home renovation projects
  • 4 HYROX finishers
  • 3 newborns
  • 1 case of tuberculosis (defeated)
  • 1 owner who voted for himself to finish last (revealed at the end)

📰Editorials

Andrew Norton

Andrew’s offseason has has revolved around Rosemary. He spent the summer learning the responsibilities of fatherhood while watching Susan become an “incredible mom,” an experience making him feel “lucky, thankful, and proud.” In his professional life, Andrew helped scale his company’s international cashew operation as the business prepares to triple production. His favorite meal of the offseason came courtesy of Susan’s dad, whose trout fish fry set a high bar for future family gatherings.

EDITOR’S NOTE: This office’s spare time also revolved around herbs.

SECOND EDITOR’S NOTE: Andrew’s commitment to the “deez nuts” bit is so strong he made an entire career of it. Respect.

Chris Wahrman

Chris accidentally packed three years of self-improvement into one offseason. Between running, gardening, bird watching, gaming, and raising Murphy, he dropped 30 pounds, completed the KT82, and earned a promotion to Sr Manager [at a Fortune 50 company]. He considers Alyssa “the best mom ever,” and together they are continually impressed by Murphy as she learns new words almost as quickly as she discovers new ways to fall down “and get back up again.” His favorite meal wasn’t memorable because of the menu, but because it was shared with family at Palenque Cocina y Agaveria in Denver.

Collin Green

Collin’s offseason was defined by preparation. Between remodeling both bathrooms and getting ready to welcome his first child, free time was hard to come by. He couldn’t say enough about Katie, who recently wrapped up six years leading the same K-Life girls from sixth grade through graduation, an accomplishment he was especially proud to celebrate. Somehow, he still found time to bike 240 miles across Missouri on the Katy Trail with Travis. Collin’s favorite meal was at Bellagio’s PRIME Steakhouse, where he leveraged his uncle’s connections for fountain views with complimentary drinks, appetizers, and dessert.

Connor Lamb

Between a new home search, welcoming a newborn, and watching Brooks learn his ABCs, Connor’s offseason was filled with significant milestones. He completed a HYROX, was promoted to Solution Architect, and finally broke up with the Fantasy Footballers, believing a new source of fantasy advice may be exactly what his franchise has been missing. His favorite offseason meal was at Café Provence because, in his words, “it reminds me of Collin because he’s Pro Vance.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: Connor requested that we not mention the HYROX (because he lost to Trey) or the promotion (because “Solution Architect” isn’t a real job).

SECOND EDITOR’S NOTE: Connor also claimed he and Taylor, on their 10th year of marriage, are “the only couple that predates the KC Guyz.”

John Gilmore

John spent much of the offseason trying to stay one step ahead of his house. Between renovating closets, fixing tools, and somehow having a sprinkler system catch fire, John has been an all purpose handyman. Thankfully, in his household’s professional life, things were considerably more positive. Melissa accepted a new role as Associate Host Team Pastor at Life.Church, while John accepted a position as Regional President at Accelerent.

EDITOR’S NOTE: a sprinkler system catching fire sounds eerily similar to the dumpster fire of his franchise.

Jordan Bosch

Jordan embraced the art of homemade pizza. Homemade dough, homemade sauce, hand-sliced pepperoni, a pizza steel, and the whole family involved. Noah and Olive continue proving they’re “fearless” where Bosch cited that “they enjoy climbing to the top of Noah’s headboard before launching themselves onto her new big girl bed.” Jordan is equally proud of the consistency he’s developed leading worship and the growth of his confidence on stage. His favorite meal was with Catie as they celebrated their anniversary with a dinner overlooking a waterfall at Log Haven in West Valley City, Utah.

Matt O’Neil

Matt’s offseason was equal parts handyman, soccer guy, and medical miracle. He spent much of his free time building a shed and watching the World Cup while awaiting Sophia’s first soccer season. He celebrated Chloe’s first official word (“No”), cheered Katie on as she presented at a physical therapy conference, and selected Arby’s Steak Bites and a root beer with the boys as his meal of the year. As for Matt himself, he casually beat tuberculosis, beat skin cancer, and completed a HYROX.

Ryan Zisman

Ryan spent far too much of his offseason consuming Love Island content before balancing out his hobbies through running, puzzles, and mahjong. Alongside Daisy, the two tried as many local restaurants and attractions as possible during their weeklong staycation, highlighted by an omakase dinner at Sushi Kodawari. Professionally, Daisy had an incredible summer, helping Kansas City Fire Department secure drones ahead of the World Cup while coordinating with federal agencies, including a 2-star general and the FBI. Ryan is expected to miss absolutely no time despite lingering back pain from carrying the KC Guyz for the better part of a decade.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Ryan insists Love Island is a social experiment, and cites his “very useful” Sociology degree.

Sam Arends

Sam’s offseason marked the finish line of an incredibly demanding season for his family. Between PA school, training for the 70.3 Augusta, surgery, redoing their deck, and preparing to start a new job, there were moments where “Taylor carried more than her share” at home. Sam couldn’t speak highly enough about her support and his appreciation of her partnership. He’s looking forward to a season where he can prioritize being home with Walker and Auggie making them homemade pizza. Ever the proud father, Sam informed us that Walker has developed a hilarious sense of humor, and Auggie just took his first steps. Lastly, Sam passed his PA National Certifying Exam, and the family celebrated his accomplishments at The Waterfront Restaurant on Anna Maria Island, making this the year’s most memorable meal.

Spencer Mobley

Spencer filled his offseason with endurance sports and the World Cup. After months of training, he completed the KT82 and finished a HYROX. He lit up when describing Ashley as his favorite person to spend time with and praising the way she prioritizes their girls. Professionally, he’s been studying buying patterns of CIOs and earned a promotion to Senior Manager [at a Fortune 50 company]. His favorite meal this year was Anjin, a Japanese izakaya-inspired restaurant.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Spencer asked us not to mention the HYROX because he wasn’t happy with his performance.

SECOND EDITOR’S NOTE: He still beat Matt.

THIRD EDITOR’S NOTE: Spencer talked about AI Automation and other CIO buying patterns for the better part of 5-minutes.

Travis Cotton

Travis spent much of the offseason either boozing and schmoozing customers, pooling at Woodside, or under the hood of his Toyota Tacoma. Although he cycled 240-miles with Collin along the Katy Trail, his proudest accomplishment came in a surprisingly wholesome moment when he remembered his dad’s birthday, called to wish him well, and discovered his dad had forgotten it himself. As for his favorite meal, he joyfully recounted the 8-ounce steak at Chester’s Chophouse in Wichita.

Trey Kennedy

Trey has entered his sourdough era, although his favorite offseason accomplishment was “extending his lead atop the league’s Most Kids” standings. Speaking of kids, Eva and Thomas have been playing well together, and baby Miles is happy and healthy. Trey expects Katie to be fully recovered by Week 1, or as he put it, “off IR” as she prepares for her first season in the girl’s league. For his favorite meal, he mentioned Mabel Gray in Detroit where he treated his entire tour crew. Naturally, Trey couldn’t finish the interview without proclaiming that, in the HYROX competition, he “barely beat Connor, significantly beat Spencer, and bent over O’Neils.”
