Preseason Newsletter
After a draft filled with hope and hubris, we are excited to once again bring you the official draft report, brought to us by the Football Guys.
Before we get into the details of this draft, we first wish to thank the league for being one that is easy to commission. The top posts of r/FFCommish are often complaints from commissioners ideating about deleting their leagues, struggling to receive league dues, or feeling their league mates are uninvolved. Fortunately, this office cannot relate to those struggles because you make this league fun and competitive. We look forward to another strong year.
A few house keeping items:
- Newsletters – Will be published Wednesdays during the season at 11:00 AM CST.
- Profile Pictures – Please send in your team pics for use in future newsletters.
- Team Names – emojis can’t be engraved on a trophy. Choose wisely.
- New Rules:
- IR will not include OUT.
- Auto Subs cannot play before starters.
- The commissioner will not override scoring decisions made by the current league’s host site (i.e. Sleeper).
As for the results of the draft, we remind the league that in last year’s report, Wahrman ranked lowest, earning a C+ draft ranking. In what became symbolic of his season’s performance, he named his team C-, and ended his season flushed to the Toilet Bowl. This year, although still the worst rating, we see his draft performance improve from a C+ to a B-. At this rate, he’s bound for a winning season in 2027.
Aiming for the middle of the pack, O’Neil’s Median Men, with their B rating, accomplished their goals. Their mediocrity remained consistent year over year.
As for the best drafter, this goes to Trey Kennedy—the 2023 Coach of the Year who made it to the championship game last season. This organization needed a strong draft because despite their performance in 2023, they are second in all time league losses. Coming in guns a’blazing, Kennedy had this to say about his draft:
It was obvious. When a league is so dumb they let you get a guy whose ADP is 14 [Puka Nacua] at pick 23, and then allow you to wait for a RB in the fifth round [Kenneth Walker] who is typically taken in the third, it’s pretty easy.
Honorable shout outs to Jordan Bosch and Ryan Zisman who see similar A tier draft rankings and look to have a strong season start.
