Drowning Our Doubters: Noah’s Flood’s Comeback Story

By Jordan Bosch, Contributing Writer

They said we were doomed. They said our season was over before it even started. They laughed as our star players fell one by one, casualties of the cruelest injury gods. But we, the resilient warriors of Noah’s Flood, defied the odds.

It started with a combine win and a historic draft. A promising season, a roster filled with potential. But then the storm hit. CMC, the 1:01, the fantasy workhorse of 2023, fell victim to Kyle Shanahan’s injury mismanagement. Cooper Kupp, a coach on the field, locker room guy, and a speedster with the heart of a lion, was sidelined indefinitely. And Nico Collins, the most productive receiver in fantasy football to start the season, and the engine of our offense, was lost to the injury gods.

With each fallen star, the doubters grew louder. They sent disgraceful trade offers hoping to capitalize on a team that had fallen on hard times. There were even talks of the Toilet Bowl. But we refused to surrender. We rallied around each other, a brotherhood forged in the fires of adversity. We dug deep, finding strength in our shared belief as taught to us by our prophet, Weezy F Baby:

“Real G’s move in silence like lasagna.”

And move in silence we did. As our stars rehabbed and the season progressed, we turned to our depth, to the unheralded heroes who had been patiently waiting for their moment. A rookie wide receiver, raw but eager, stepped into the spotlight. A sunsetting running back, hungry for redemption with his former team, carried the load. And a rookie quarterback, overlooked (sorry Bears fans!) and undervalued, became our secret weapon.

Now, as the playoffs approach, we stand on the brink of greatness. Although we may never be whole again, we remain a force to be reckoned with. Like a kintsugi dish (look it up you uncultured swine), what was once seen as a sign of our weakness, emerges as a mark of resilience and a testament to our spirit. We’ve faced the storm, weathered the tempest, and emerged in strength. We’ve proven that adversity can be a catalyst, a crucible that forges champions. The doubters may have laughed, but the last laugh will be ours.

Noah’s Flood is rising.
